Our application process is simple:
First:
- Research exactly what you want funded, and know the exact cost (to the cent).
- Be able to describe why this is important for the client.
- Ask the camp, agency, provider, or resource for a reduced rate (since this is a scholarship child). All applicants must ask, however a negative response will not prohibit funding.
Next:
- Call Amy Wallerstein Friedman, LCSW at (510) 482-9889.
- Leave a message with your specific grant request. Include your contact information, clearly stated and repeated.
- If approved, Amy will direct you to complete a short application required to receive funds.
Our grants are one-time only, and most range in value from $75 to $400.
We prefer to partner with other programs or institutions (such as camps) to stretch the grants as far as possible.
Those who apply on behalf of a child are usually social workers, teachers, and psychotherapists who have reached the end of their resources to help children in need.
Our Board has deep expertise in child development, special education, and psychology and we also offer consultation on treatment planning and community-based resource-building.
